I suppose every bum kind of fancies themself as a photographer as it's something that everyone does. And looking ahead, I know that I'm gonna need a pretty damn good one when I go travelling if I wanna bring some fantastic shots back to the UK with me.
HOWEVER, who'd have thunk it that some cameras can cost, quite frankly, shit loads?
There's an advert on telly at the minute that I like. It's the SONY NEX-5 SLR Digital Camera and it's of a woman at a street festival at night in some beautiful South American country. She films skinny Brazilian women and fat tanned men with this pretty fantastic camera and I really wanna get my hands on it!
Alas, it's an SLR and, even though I don't know a lot about cameras, I know that you need to have a lot of money to own one of these contraptions. The cheapest NEX-5 is coined at £439.99 on Amazon, not to mention a wide array of lenses that you can buy proceeding the camera base (again, the cheapest price is in the region of £200 smackers!)...
This price tag makes me nauseous. The most expensive item I've bought in my life are a pair of leather boots from Evans (they're the only boots that'll fit my monstrous calves) and they cost £60 in the sale!
Fingers crossed the price will have gone down my Christmas.
